Testimonials

"I went to see Jude as I had some health concerns after a series of blood tests. She helped me understand the test results and the implications of my diagnosis, as well as making me an eating plan to go forward. It was such a relief and I found Jude so easy to talk to and I was so impressed with her food knowledge. I can’t wait to see her again in a month!"

Carol, Hampshire

"Jude was sympathetic and thorough in my consultation, which showed in the action plan I received shortly afterwards. The plan made perfect sense and has helped me to make practical application of her advice - I'm really grateful for the help. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jude's services, in fact I’ve already recommended her to a friend."

Caroline, Test Valley

About Jude

"Nutrition and cooking have been a life-long passion, I love being able to share that knowledge with others"

Jude has always loved nutrition and cooking - by the age of 10 (see photo) she was cooking three-course meals for her family and friends. She's an intuitive, self-taught chef with a wide knowledge of recipes and techniques. Her love of nutrition was formalised last year having graduated with a Diploma in Culinary Medicine.

Jude is a Nutrition Consultant with a Diploma in Nutrition and Culinary Medicine, and a member of the Federation of Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (FNTP). She set up Practical Nutrition to help individuals make great food choices, love what they eat, and feel their best. Jude feels strongly about evidence-based advice and only recommends scientifically-proven healthy eating practice. That said, she understands that a way of eating has to be practical to work long-term - the goal is healthy eating for life rather than restrictive short-term diets that quickly become impractical and unsustainable.

Jude has worked with clients with different challenges, including type 2 diabetes, hormonal imbalance, depression, digestive problems, obesity, and ADHD. She has a special interest in helping neurodivergent individuals (autistic and ADHD) eat well in the face of unique challenges, understanding sensory limitations first-hand - she's autistic too. Jude recently attended a short-course on Autism and Eating Challenges and continues to study the science of nutrition and neurodivergence.

Footnotes

  1. 'Eat well' - means eating foods that nourish your body and support your health. Nutrition isn't a cure-all, but evidence shows it does help manage or prevent many different health conditions, including type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. It also affects our energy levels, immune system, and even our brain chemicals. So eating well is about choosing foods that nourish and support our body and mind.

  2. 'Fits your lifestyle' - some people have the time, money, and ability to cook all their meals from scratch using fresh foods. But you can still eat well, even if you need to buy everything ready-prepared from your supermarket - it's about knowing what to choose.

  3. If you would like a personalised 7-day meal plan after your first consultation, prices vary according to complexity of need.

  4. Appointments can be online via videoconference or in some circumstances we may be able to arrange face-to-face if that's your preference
